Scottish Green leader Ross Greer endorses 'Zionism is racism' policy, deepening UK party rift
Scottish Green co-leader Ross Greer has explicitly stated that Zionism is racist, aligning with a controversial motion recently adopted by the Green Party of England and Wales. While Greer supports the core premise that Israel's founding was an act of racism, he noted disagreements with other parts of the motion. This stance has intensified internal divisions within the UK Green Party, with leader Zack Polanski absent from the vote and four of five Green MPs opposing the policy. External condemnation has grown, with Israel's foreign ministry and Jewish groups labeling the move antisemitic, while the European Green Party has distanced itself from the decision.
