Overnight search intensifies for missing nonverbal child near Pawleys Island
Georgetown County authorities are conducting an overnight multi-agency search for Sailor Hayes, a 5-year-old nonverbal girl who wandered from a rental home in the Hagley Community near Pawleys Island, South Carolina. The child was last seen wearing a light blue bathing suit and a pink-and-white lanyard. Sheriff Carter Weaver stated that deputies, K-9 units, and boats will continue searching through the night, with divers from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources joining the underwater search on Monday. Although Project Lifesaver tracking technology is being utilized, no signal has been detected. Neighbors are assisting the effort, and the public is urged to review home security footage. The family is from Virginia, and the child is described as having blond hair and blue eyes.
