TNA Wrestling announced an immediate workforce reduction aimed at streamlining operations and boosting profitability, with Tommy Dreamer departing the Creative and Talent Relations departments, Tessa Blanchard released, and Sami Callihan reportedly leaving the company as part of the changes.
Sami Callihan is reportedly gone from TNA Wrestling, where he had been working as a backstage producer since retiring from in-ring competition last year. He joins a string of departures including Tommy Dreamer, Tessa Blanchard, Steve Maclin, Myla Grace and Dani Luna. With current TNA World Champion Mike Santana’s contract expiring soon, WWE has reportedly expressed interest as Santana defends the title against Nic Nemeth at Slammiversary.
Santino Marella returned to the ring for his first televised match in nine years at the Impact Rebellion PPV. He teamed up with Dango and Joe Hendry to take on the Design faction, who had attacked him backstage. Despite being outnumbered, Santino had a proper hot tag moment and hit his signature sequences to win the match. His young son was in attendance to see him wrestle live for the first time.
