Mass Effect Fans Escalate Campaign with Graffiti, Billboards, and Coordinated Play Sessions
Following Electronic Arts' closure of BioWare and cancellation of Mass Effect 5, fans have launched an aggressive multi-pronged campaign to preserve the franchise. Actions include spray-painting 'Save Mass Effect' on EA's Madrid office, purchasing Times Square and local billboards, and organizing a coordinated play session for N7 Day. A Change.org petition has gathered over 267,000 signatures, demanding EA fund a new entry or license the IP to another studio. While EA has not responded, former BioWare producer Mark Darrah suggests the company may sell or shelve the intellectual property. Critics argue these efforts are futile given EA's financial priorities, while supporters view them as necessary to demonstrate ongoing audience demand.
