"MIT's School of Science Expands Faculty Roster for 2023"
The School of Science at MIT has welcomed seven new faculty members, including Erin Chen, who will focus on studying the communication between microbes on the skin and the immune system; Robert Gilliard, who specializes in organic and inorganic chemistry; Sally Kornbluth, whose research focuses on cell proliferation and programmed cell death; Daniel Lew, who uses fungal model systems to study cell orientation and shape; Eluned Smith, who uses rare beauty decays to search for new fundamental particles; Gaia Stucky de Quay, who studies topographic signals and landscape evolution; and Brandon Weissbourd, who uses jellyfish to study nervous system evolution.
