Former WWE Writer Sues Vince McMahon for Racist Scripts and Discrimination.
WWE and its CEO Vince McMahon are facing a racial discrimination lawsuit filed by a former writer, Britney Abrahams, who alleges that she was fired for objecting to racially-tinged plot lines for scripted matches. The lawsuit claims that the story pitches perpetuated "offensively racist and stereotypical jargon," including having a Muslim wrestler admit he was responsible for 9/11 and a black wrestler being held "captive" in a cage. McMahon retired in July amid a sexual harassment and hush-money scandal but returned in January as executive chairman to oversee a potential sale of the company.
