
Sawe shatters two-hour barrier to win London Marathon
Sebastian Sawe became the first man to run a marathon in under two hours, winning the London Marathon in 1:59:30 and breaking Kelvin Kiptum’s previous 2:00:35 record; Yomif Kejelcha was second and Jacob Kiplimo third. In the women’s race, Tigst Assefa defended her title with 2:15:41, nine seconds faster than last year’s mark, as Obiri and Jepkosgei followed closely.
