Unveiling a Hidden Solar System: Clues of a Second Kuiper Belt Discovered
Astronomers have detected objects moving beyond the Kuiper Belt, suggesting the presence of a possible second asteroid belt within our Solar System. The findings, presented at a conference, indicate that there may be more objects in the region beyond 50 AU than previously thought. The New Horizons probe, which has traveled 56 AU from Earth, discovered a dozen objects further out than expected. While the work has not yet been peer-reviewed, future surveys are expected to confirm these findings.
