Thrash Delivers Compact, Gory Shark Thrills on Netflix
Tommy Wirkola’s Thrash is a lean, 86-minute Netflix shark thriller that channels Jaws while delivering brisk, gory set-pieces. Set in a flooded South Carolina town after Hurricane Henry, it follows pregnant Lisa (Phoebe Dynevor) and teen survivor Dakota (Whitney Peak) as a hungry bull shark hunts through the submerged streets, with Djimon Hounsou providing ballast as a marine biologist. The kills arrive with visceral gusto, but the film’s tight runtime and staging keep the suspense steady, making Thrash a familiar yet competently executed Netflix chiller.
