Danganronpa 2x2 expands Slayhem with longer story, aiming for 2027 release
Spike Chunsoft showcased Danganronpa 2x2 at Anime Expo, revealing a longer Slayhem scenario bundled with a revamped original game. The team explained the expanded scope comes from the narrative growing across titles, with the world map switching to an isometric 3D view for clearer navigation. The new scenario is written by Yoichiro Koizumi (with Takekuni Kitayama handling tricks), while Kazutaka Kodaka remains involved but not as sole writer. It’s due in Early 2027 on Switch 2, Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with promises of fresh twists and different character arcs. Kodaka even jokes about not receiving hate mail no matter who dies in the story.
