
IBM Expands AI Portfolio with $2.3B Acquisition and Platform Enhancements
IBM is set to acquire Software AG's StreamSets and webMethods platforms for $2.3 billion in cash, aiming to enhance its artificial intelligence (AI) and hybrid cloud offerings. The acquisition will enable IBM to add data ingestion capabilities to its AI platform, Watson, through StreamSets, while webMethods will provide integration and application programming interface (API) tools for clients' hybrid multi-cloud environments. The deal is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2024.
