Maxeon to Open 3 GW Solar Factory in New Mexico
Maxeon Solar Technologies plans to build a $1 billion, 3-gigawatt solar factory in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which will be the largest in the US. The factory will produce TOPCon PV-silicon cell technology and shingled-cell Performance Line solar modules for both utility-scale and rooftop solar markets. The project is subject to successful financial close under the US Department of Energy's Title 17 Clean Energy Financing Program and is expected to create up to 1,800 jobs. Construction is set to begin in Q1 2024, with the factory coming online in 2025.
