Southern storms leave death and destruction in Mississippi.

At least six people have died and over 100 others have been injured in the Southern US due to extreme weather incidents over the holiday weekend, including a likely tornado in Mississippi. Nearly 468,000 utility customers were still without electricity across several states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. The National Weather Service has warned of more intense heat and severe storms capable of producing large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes across parts of the Gulf Coast and Southeast, with flash flooding also a concern.
