Guerrero Jr. apologizes for contract remarks amid Blue Jays' final home series
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. issued a formal apology to fans and teammates for comments defending his $500 million contract as a reward for past achievements. The 27-year-old first baseman, who is finishing a career-worst season with the Blue Jays, acknowledged his remarks were poorly communicated after advice from his father. The incident occurred as the team faced elimination and a lukewarm reception from fans during their final home series against the Cincinnati Reds.
