House rebukes Rep. Edwards for years of inappropriate staff conduct
In a rare bipartisan rebuke, the House voted 413-2 to censure Rep. Chuck Edwards after a House Ethics Committee report found a years-long pattern of inappropriate behavior toward two young female staffers, including lavish gifts, intimate dinners and vacations, deeply personal and romantic messages, and even discussions of a strip club. Edwards denies wrongdoing, says he is imperfect, and announced he won’t seek reelection; the censure underscores ongoing ethics scrutiny ahead of the midterms.
