Detroit Lions Cut Ties with Suspended WR and Two Others Before Rookie Minicamp
The Detroit Lions have waived wide receiver Stanley Berryhill, who was suspended by the NFL for violating the league's gambling policy. Berryhill was suspended for the first six games of the 2023 season for allegedly using mobile betting at the Lions' facility, though he did not bet on NFL games. The Lions have now released three of the four players who were suspended by the NFL in April, including Quintez Cephus and C.J. Moore. Jameson Williams, the lone Lions player involved in the scandal not to be released, was drafted by Detroit in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Alabama.
