Renowned Steel Guitarist Tommy Detamore Dies at 70
Country musician and producer Tommy Detamore died at 70, with his wife Sandra announcing the sudden passing on Facebook. A Charlottesville, Virginia native, Detamore rose to fame as a steel guitarist for Darrell McCall and Moe Bandy, later becoming a sought-after engineer and producer and earning Steel Guitar Hall of Fame recognition. He collaborated with artists including Jim Lauderdale and The Texas Tornados, and his family said his music will live on even as they mourn his loss; the cause of death was not disclosed.
