Steins;Gate, the 2009 Xbox 360 sci‑fi visual novel, is getting a full Re:Boot reboot this summer, arriving August 20, 2026 in Japan with refreshed visuals, a new scenario, a recreated Akihabara, redesigned outfits by huke, multiple endings, and a longer 30–50 hour campaign, with no confirmed international release yet.
Steins;Gate RE:BOOT is officially scheduled for a global release on August 20, 2026 across Nintendo Switch 2/Switch, PlayStation 5/4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam, featuring updated graphics and additional story content. An opening Movie with the theme Skyclad Observer by Kanako Ito was released, and subtitles will include Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. In Japan, the PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam versions will be digital-only. The project continues the Steins;Gate legacy, following multiple past games, an anime, films, and other spin-offs.
A reboot of the PSP/PS3 sci-fi visual novel Steins;Gate is coming to PS5 and PS4 with updated visuals, new story content, and UI improvements. It will launch in Japan on August 20, 2026, with a Western release planned in 2026 since English language support is already included in the Japanese version.
