The arrest of a CIA officer found with about $40 million worth of gold bars at his home has thrust Deputy Defense Secretary Steve Feinberg into the public eye, with the FBI interviewing him as part of the David Rush probe; Feinberg has not been accused of wrongdoing and is not under investigation.
FBI/ cia agents seized about 303 gold bars valued at roughly $40 million from the Ashburn, Virginia home of David Rush, a former CIA official accused of theft of public money and credential fraud. Rush, who says the gold was for “work-related expenses,” has a years-long tie to Steve Feinberg, Trump’s deputy defense secretary and Cerberus founder, who previously chaired the Intelligence Advisory Board. Rush remains in custody ahead of a court hearing, as investigators pursue additional charges and vetting questions about his hiring.
