Video-Game Workers Unite: French Union Calls Sector-Wide Strike Over Layoffs
The independent French video game union STJV is calling for a sector-wide strike on June 25 across the video game industry to protest rising layoffs and alleged abuse by studio bosses, with a picket outside Quantic Dream’s Paris headquarters. Quantic Dream has reportedly increased layoffs to around 115 workers after announcing the removal of Spellcasters Chronicles from Steam, following earlier warnings of job cuts, and the union says more actions will follow as part of its Summer Greve Fest.
