UNRWA Accuses Hamas of Stealing Aid in Gaza, Then Retracts Allegations
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) initially claimed that Hamas authorities in Gaza had stolen fuel and medical supplies meant for Palestinian refugees from its premises, but later deleted the posts and denied any looting had occurred. UN sources and Israeli officials confirmed the incident, which involved the theft of 24,000 liters of fuel and medical supplies. Israel has long called for the closure of UNRWA, accusing it of perpetuating the conflict with the Palestinians. The Israeli Foreign Ministry mocked UNRWA for deleting the posts, while Energy Minister Israel Katz called for aid to Gaza to be halted until Hamas is toppled.
