Stolen Western tech powers Russian and Iranian drones in Ukraine conflict
Experts from Conflict Armament Research have found that the engines of Iranian-made drones used by Russia in Ukraine are based on German technology stolen by Iran in 2006. The drones have been used to strike targets across Ukraine, including power infrastructure and apartment buildings, resulting in civilian casualties. The Iranian company Mado is believed to be the producer of the engines found in the drones. The US and EU have sanctioned Iranian companies and individuals in response to the drone supply.
