Xbox added cloud gaming support to 47 titles in its final September update, including 'Control Resonant' and 'Marvel Rivals.' This expansion coincides with the last month of unlimited cloud streaming for Game Pass subscribers, as Microsoft introduces monthly hour caps in November 2026.
Microsoft will cap monthly cloud streaming on Game Pass: Ultimate 15 hours, Premium 10 hours, Essential 5 hours, with extra time purchasable (pricing undisclosed). Downloadable games remain unaffected, and non-subscribers can buy timed streaming for owned titles. The company says the limits reflect rising cloud‑gaming costs and will affect about 4% of subscribers (~1.2 million of 30 million). While cloud gaming has been a minority share of playtime, Microsoft argues the cap helps sustain reliability and investment, amid competition from Sony and Nvidia and pending a free ad-supported streaming test.
