Skydance Finalizes $110B Merger, Confirms HBO Max and Paramount+ Will Eventually Unify
Paramount Skydance has officially completed its $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, creating a media giant that controls over 200 million streaming subscribers. The new entity, simply named Skydance, has confirmed that its three major platforms—HBO Max, Paramount+, and Discovery+—will eventually merge into a single service. While the unified platform is not yet named or scheduled, CEO David Ellison indicated that bundling will occur in the short term, with full integration following later. Leadership roles have been assigned, with Casey Bloys and JB Perrette co-chairing the direct-to-consumer division.
