In April 1974, a Super Outbreak of 148 tornadoes hit 13 states in the US, causing widespread destruction and killing dozens of people. Kentucky was one of the hardest-hit states, with 26 tornadoes causing millions of dollars in damages and claiming 77 lives. The storm remains one of the worst tornado outbreaks in US history.
