Taiwan Commits to 30% of Alaska LNG Output Amid Midterm Push
President Donald Trump announced at an Alaska rally that Taiwan has agreed to purchase 30% of the gas from the proposed $50 billion Alaska LNG project for 20 years and invest $4.4 billion in construction. This announcement follows unresolved disputes with South Korea over its participation. While Trump framed the deal as a guarantee of success, officials noted the agreement remains non-binding and terms are still being negotiated.
