Wuhan thieves swap high-end GPUs for cheaper models in gaming hotels
Two men in Wuhan, China, were arrested for stealing high-end Nvidia RTX 5080 graphics cards from esports hotels. Instead of removing the hardware entirely, they swapped the expensive cards for cheaper RTX 3060 models, allowing the PCs to remain functional and undetected. The scheme, which generated nearly $12,000 in profits, ended when a power outage caused by their tampering led staff to inspect the equipment.
