Jean Smart Cast as New Love Interest in Searchlight's 'The Families Stone' Sequel
Jean Smart has joined the cast of 'The Families Stone,' the sequel to the 2005 holiday comedy 'The Family Stone.' Smart will play the new romantic interest of the Stone patriarch, Craig T. Nelson's character, in a story set 20 years after the original film. The project reunites most of the original ensemble, including Sarah Jessica Parker and Rachel McAdams, with Tom Bezucha returning to write and direct. Filming is scheduled to begin in New York this fall.
