Anduril Unveils Thunder: Hybrid-Electric Autonomous Attack Rotorcraft
Anduril Industries, with Archer Aviation, unveiled Thunder, a hybrid-electric autonomous rotorcraft designed for armed reconnaissance and strike missions. The system can be configured to carry up to 10 Hellfires, 16 air-launched effects, or 76 rockets, and is pitched as an attritable asset with a price tag far below traditional manned platforms. Thunder is slated for its first flight next year and aligns with the UKʼs NYX robo-wingman program, reflecting the broader move toward man-machine combat teaming showcased at the Farnborough Airshow.
