FTC sues ticket broker REPS for bypassing purchase limits on 18.5 million tickets
The Federal Trade Commission has sued ticket broker REPS & Company and its executives for allegedly violating the Better Online Ticket Sales Act. The complaint claims REPS used deceptive tactics to bypass security measures, purchasing over 18.5 million tickets for high-demand events since 2022. The company reportedly spent $1.3 billion to acquire these tickets and generated at least $120.8 million in profit through resale. The Department of Justice filed the suit in the Southern District of California following a 2-0 vote by the FTC Commission.
