Biodexa Secures Exclusive Global License for Promising Type 1 Diabetes Treatment
Biodexa Pharmaceuticals has entered into agreements to acquire the exclusive worldwide license for tolimidone, a Phase II ready asset for the treatment of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). Tolimidone, originally discovered by Pfizer, has shown promising results in preclinical models by stimulating beta cell proliferation. Biodexa plans to initiate a Phase II clinical program to further develop tolimidone for T1D treatment. The company will conduct a Phase Ib dose confirmation study followed by a Phase II study with approximately 35 T1D patients. Tolimidone has the potential to improve disease management for T1D patients and strengthen Biodexa's pipeline.
