Kamara welcomes Etienne addition as Saints seek upgraded backfield
Alvin Kamara said on Terron Armstead’s podcast that he’s happy the Saints signed Travis Etienne to a four-year, $52 million deal, stressing that a team can’t rely on one back and he’s excited to team with Etienne. Kamara’s contract was tweaked earlier in the offseason, leaving open the possibility of a pay cut to stay in New Orleans, where he’s projected to count $10.45 million against the salary cap this year. He’s watched Etienne’s play in Jacksonville and hinted at a productive tandem backfield with Etienne and the Saints, echoing the Kamara/Ingram duo from 2017–18.
