International Crackdown: US and UK Sanction Russian Trickbot Cyber Gang Members
The United States and the United Kingdom have imposed sanctions on eleven individuals associated with the Russia-based Trickbot cybercrime group. The U.S. Department of Justice has also unsealed indictments against nine individuals connected to the Trickbot malware and Conti ransomware schemes. The Trickbot group, with ties to Russian intelligence services, has targeted the U.S. government, companies, hospitals, and critical infrastructure. The sanctions aim to disrupt Russian cybercrime and ransomware activities, following previous joint designations by the U.S. and the UK in February 2023.
