Nepal Principal Evacuates 900 Students as Glacial Floods Destroy School
Principal Rajendra Dawadi saved approximately 900 students by evacuating Tribhuvan Trishuli Secondary School in Nepal’s Trishuli Valley just before flash floods, triggered by a Himalayan glacial collapse, destroyed the building. While the disaster killed over 950 people and left thousands missing, Dawadi’s quick action prevented a mass casualty event among children. Two staff members remain missing, and the incident highlights the urgent need for school reconstruction and psychological support for survivors.
