Kia recalls over 300k cars for trunk latch safety concern
Kia is recalling nearly 320,000 vehicles, including Rio and Optima cars, due to a potential issue with the trunk latch base that may crack, preventing the trunk from opening from the inside. This recall poses a risk of individuals becoming trapped in the trunk, increasing the risk of injury. Kia will notify owners and replace the trunk latch base subassembly free of charge.
