An armed assailant opened fire inside an Old Dominion University ROTC classroom, killing Lt. Col. Brandon Shah, a University of Georgia graduate and military science professor, while two others were injured. The shooter, Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, died in the incident; the FBI is investigating the attack as terrorism. Jalloh had prior ISIS-related convictions and was released in 2024 on supervised release.
