New RSV Vaccine Offers Protection for Adults 50 and Up, Says Drugmaker

Vaccine maker GSK has released preliminary data indicating that their RSV vaccine, Arexvy, could help protect adults as young as 50 who have certain underlying medical conditions and are at increased risk from the respiratory virus. The Phase 3 trial found that the vaccine elicited an immune response in adults aged 50 to 59 with underlying medical conditions. GSK plans to submit the data to the FDA for potential expansion of the vaccine's availability. The results have not yet been peer-reviewed or published, and any decisions on label expansion are expected in 2024.
