Mortgage Rates Drop to 2-Month Lows in April 2023.
The average lender's best case scenario conforming 30yr fixed mortgage rate hit a 2-month low today, but changes in upfront costs imposed by regulators and lender stratification may result in higher rates for some borrowers. The improvement in rates came in response to clues about a shift in the labor market in this morning's Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS), but the most important jobs report will be out on Friday.
