Mead Ranch, a 1,318-acre property donated through poet Jane Mead’s estate, has been added to a growing wildlife corridor in Napa County, linking it with Walt Ranch and Sutro Preserve along the valley’s eastern ridge. The conservation effort protects vernal-pool habitats and rare plants, including Mead’s Owl’s Clover and the endangered Navarretia leucocephala ssp. pauciflora, with broader hopes of future educational opportunities for children as the corridor continues to expand.
