"Tony-Winning 'Kimberly Akimbo' Sets April Curtain Call on Broadway"
"Kimberly Akimbo," the Tony-winning musical by Jeanine Tesori and David Lindsay-Abaire, will conclude its Broadway run on April 28 at the Booth Theatre, after a successful stint of 32 previews and 612 regular performances. The original cast, including Tony winner Victoria Clark, will remain until the final show. Although the Broadway adventure is ending, a national tour is set to begin in September, starting from the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and planning to visit 60 cities over 75 weeks. The musical, based on a 2000 play, tells the story of a teenager with a rare aging disorder and has been celebrated for its achievements, including multiple Tony Awards.
