Michigan residents will have the opportunity to view the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse within reasonable driving distance, with Detroit experiencing 99% coverage. To witness the total eclipse, individuals can drive to mid-Ohio or mid-Indiana, or head north to Canada and find a spot along Lake Erie or Lake Ontario. Various viewing sites and events are available in Michigan and Ohio, including Detroit Public Library events, the Cranbrook Institute of Science, Total Eclipse Fest 2024 in Cleveland, and Cuyahoga Valley National Park. NASA will also be live-streaming the event for those who prefer to watch from home.
