Voicemod Key Pocket bypasses mobile OS limits to enable real-time voice changing on phones and consoles
Voicemod has launched the Key Pocket, a palm-sized hardware device that enables real-time voice changing and soundboard effects on mobile phones, tablets, and consoles. Priced at $99.90 standalone or $129.90 with a Pro license, the device solves a key limitation of mobile operating systems that prevent apps from altering microphone audio in real time. By acting as an external audio bridge via USB-C and MagSafe, the Key Pocket allows users to modify their voice during games, calls, and streams without needing a PC. The device supports over 200 original voices and 76,000 community-created options, with processing kept local to preserve privacy. While currently available in the US, European launch dates are pending, raising questions about compliance with the EU AI Act’s new synthetic audio labeling requirements.
