Fishing Success on Island Lake Bridge: Walleyes Galore!

Anglers on the Island Lake bridge north of Duluth, Minnesota, had a successful opening day of walleye season with plenty of fish caught, including walleyes, northern pike, and small-mouthed bass. Special regulations require that all walleyes between 15 and 20 inches be released, but anglers can keep up to 10 walleye daily, with one of those over 20 inches long. Despite the windy conditions, the sunshine made it feel almost summer-like, with temperatures near 60 degrees under a partly cloudy sky.
