Vance Welcomes Fourth Child, First Sitting U.S. Vice President to Become a Father in 150+ Years
US Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha announced the birth of their fourth child, a son named Alec Neel Vance, born at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Alec Neel is the first child born to a sitting vice president in more than 150 years, joining siblings Ewan (2017), Vivek (2020), and Mirabel (2021). Vance, a former Marine and Yale Law School graduate, has long urged higher birth rates, and the arrival comes amid a mini baby boom among Trump administration officials.
