Dawn Rendezvous: Waning Moon Near Jupiter with Mars in Tow
A waning crescent Moon (about 10% illuminated) will appear close to Jupiter at dawn on Tuesday as seen from London, passing within less than a degree of the giant planet; the conjunction itself occurs later that evening at 7:11 pm, after UK skies have set. The next morning the Moon will be on Jupiter’s other side, with Mars visible nearby in Gemini, and this planetary pairing is also observable from the Southern Hemisphere before dawn.
