Former NFL guard Tre’ Johnson dies at 54 during family trip
Former Washington guard Tre’ Johnson, a 1999 All-Pro and Pro Bowler who started 72 of 93 NFL games from 1994–2000 (and a brief 2001 season with the Browns), died at age 54 suddenly during a family vacation. The cause wasn’t disclosed; his wife noted his health issues had forced him to take a leave of absence. Johnson later taught history at Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland, and his passing was acknowledged by the Washington Commanders.
