A mountain lion was spotted near Fullerton, Nebraska, prompting a warning from the Nance County Sheriff's Office. Locals captured video footage of the animal, and tracks at the scene confirmed it to be a mountain lion. The animal was last seen moving north on 545th Street.
Mountain Lion Sighting Leaves Southwest Omaha Residents on Edge
Residents in southwest Omaha are on edge after a mountain lion was captured on a Ring doorbell camera. Game and Parks confirmed the sighting and searched the area, but with no new signs of activity, the search was turned over to Omaha Police. While some residents are concerned for their safety and the safety of their pets, experts believe the mountain lion is likely a young adult male passing through the area in search of a new territory. If found outside city limits, no harm will come to the mountain lion, but if found within city limits, the protocol is to kill it due to the lack of suitable relocation options.
Wolverine Spotted Twice in Rare Portland Sightings.
A second wolverine sighting has been reported in the Portland metro area, with a resident capturing video of the animal wandering in their yard. Wolverines are typically found in Canada and Alaska, with smaller populations in the US, including Oregon. The sighting is the first confirmed outside of the Wallowa Mountains in over 30 years. Conservation groups are encouraging people to report additional sightings to aid in their tracking efforts.
