Intel's Aurora Supercomputer: Ready for Action with Max CPUs and GPUs.
Intel and Argonne National Laboratory have successfully installed the blades in the Aurora supercomputer, which features Intel's Xeon CPU Max and Xeon GPU Max series, offering 2 ExaFLOPS computing power. The supercomputer has 10,624 nodes with 21,248 Xeon CPUs and 63,744 GPUs based on the Ponte Vecchio design. It is expected to provide state-of-the-art generative AI models for science and potentially surpass AMD's Frontier supercomputer. The Aurora supercomputer is on track to be fully functional by this year.
