A16z Launches $42M San Francisco Academy to Bypass Traditional College

Andreessen Horowitz has launched the Horowitz Andreessen Academy, a for-profit, unaccredited alternative to college in San Francisco. The program offers a tuition-free, one-year fellowship for 50 students, focusing on AI product development without traditional grades or homework. Backed by $42 million from major tech firms, the academy aims to train young entrepreneurs for the AI era, with a paid two-year program planned for 2028.
