August 2023: Subaru Solterra and Hyundai Ioniq BEV Sales Surge, Asian Automakers Lead the Way

Subaru of America reported a record-breaking month for sales in August 2023, with 56,407 vehicles sold, marking 13 consecutive months of year-over-year growth. While all-electric Subaru cars still make up a small portion of total sales, the Subaru Solterra achieved its highest monthly sales of 915 units, accounting for 1.6% of Subaru's total sales volume. Year-to-date, the Solterra has sold 4,645 units, representing 1.1% of Subaru's total sales. Subaru aims to launch multiple new all-electric models and achieve a global BEV share of 50% by 2030, with a target of approximately 400,000 electric car sales annually in the US.
